A few pictures from Venice Rookery yesterday. It's always been one of my favorite places to see birds, but I hadn't been there in two years. Tuesday, 7:18 a.m.

Rob and I went to Venice Rookery on Tuesday morning. We left Bradenton at 6 a.m. and arrived at 7:15 a.m., just as the sun was coming up. Most of the fog had lifted by the time we got there and the beautiful Golden Hour was upon us. These were the first four pictures I took.

I’m finally starting to get back to normal here and back into my regular routine. Mostly everything is put away. I’m going to have Laurie & Tracy over this weekend and we will go through all the things I brought back for them from their grandma & grandpa’s house. Last night the judging was harsh. The person who was critiquing used the numbers between 10 and 15 for his scores. Anything below 10 was considered pretty bad. I got two 10s and two 11s on my four submissions. Most all the others were 10, 11 & 12, and two 14s. He did say at the end, this was just his opinion, so don’t take too hard. I ( Read more... )
